‘Escape the Madness’ goes viral
– 65,000 views and rising
– 4th most shared video in GB yesterday

Tourism Ireland’s new ‘Escape the Madness’ film has clocked up 65,000 views on YouTube since around midday on Tuesday (17 July). It was the 4th most shared video in GB yesterday after P&G and Heineken – and the numbers are still rising.

Voiced by actor and comedian Chris O’Dowd, who also makes a cameo appearance, the film urges Londoners to ‘Escape the Madness’ during the Olympics and chill out on the island of Ireland.

Today, travel experts Hotels.com confirm that searches by UK travellers for destinations across Ireland have increased considerably in the past fortnight, with searches for many counties up 200% or more.

The ‘Escape the Madness’ film is phase two of Tourism Ireland’s Olympics campaign in Britain and builds on previous print, online and outdoor advertising, to whet appetites for holidays and short breaks here.
